Your Umbrella Starts Its Life at the Shadowspec Headquarters in Whangārei, New Zealand

In a quick developing modern world; outdoor spaces provide us with clarity and relaxation.

The Shadowspec Serenity™ & Unity™ cantilever umbrellas are conceptualised, designed and built in-house by our experienced team. We implement a robust development cycle, dynamic feedback loop and the best materials around the globe. This enables Shadowspec to produce the best umbrella in the world.

Your umbrella starts its life at Shadowspec Headquarters in Northland. Our in-house team works with a mix of data-driven design and real-world testing allowing us to produce umbrellas that perform well in the New Zealand climate.

The Shadowspec design process applies sketching, iterating and developing with CAD and rapid prototyping technologies to provide umbrella excellence. Aluminium, 316 stainless steel and solution-dyed fabrics are combined to build umbrellas that are elegant and refined.

Spacious shade is determined by our bespoke canopy design.

We expect the Shadowspec fabric canopies to last as long as the frame itself. The only corners we cut in canopy production with a precision laser and automated cutting table.

The Shadowspec Serenity and Unity canopies are designed and sewn with the same attention to detail as the umbrella frames. The canopy team design, cut and sew the Shadowspec canopies using the latest technology available in the textile industry.

Umbrellas are shipped to Shadowspec distribution centers around the world and when you’re ready to order – your choice of configuration, umbrella size, canopy colour and mounting option are shipped to by our global distribution network.

At the heart of the Shadowspec design and build process – Quality control is integral.

Shadowspec’s refined umbrellas are hand-built at our facilities in New Zealand. Our Whangārei production team build to spec for both national and international clients, providing exceptional quality control of the umbrellas.

Shadowspec masts are available in two colours, Space Grey or Heron Black. Our Aluminium framework is checked and assembled with resin hubs and marine-grade stainless steel fastenings.

Our patented technology that allows ease of use is installed before two rounds of quality control are completed. When completing quality control, we check against the original Shadowspec design to ensure every umbrella is dispatched to a highest standard. This ensures that we’re happy with the product, and of course, that you’ll be excited to receive.
